Elevate Your Product Ownership Mindset!

The CPOA Study Group is a collaborative learning initiative designed to help you explore the intersection of business analysis and product ownership. Rooted in the IIBA® Guide to Product Ownership Analysis, this program empowers participants to embrace agile product thinking and deliver value through continuous discovery and delivery.

Whether you are preparing for the Certificate in Product Ownership Analysis (CPOA) or simply looking to sharpen your product ownership skills, this group offers a supportive environment to learn, reflect, and grow. Participation also qualifies for Continuing Development Units (CDUs) toward IIBA® recertification.

Please Note!

This is not a formal training course. The Study Group is a community-led, facilitated learning space designed to:

  • Support self-study and exam preparation.
  • Complement formal training (not replace it).
  • Foster peer learning and real-world discussion.

Together, we’ll explore product ownership analysis through shared experiences, practical examples, and collaborative dialogue.

Participation also provides the opportunity to earn Continuing Development Units (CDUs) required for IIBA® recertification.

Who is this Study Group for?

This Study Group welcomes a broad range of participants:

  • IIBA®-CPOA certification holders – Exchange practical experience in Product Ownership Analysis.
  • Business Analysis professionals – Prepare for the CPOA exam with peer support.
  • Product thinkers – Deepen your understanding of product ownership.
  • Self-study strugglers – Stay motivated in a structured, supportive setting.
  • PMs, POs, Scrum Masters – Strengthen collaboration with business analysts.
  • Transitioning professionals – Shift from project to product mindset with practical context.
  • Curious minds – Engage in peer exchange and hands-on product ownership discussions.

How does a study group work?

Your Journey in the CPOA Study Group:

  • Preparation is Key: Before each session, you'll receive a specific section of the Guide to Product Ownership Analysis to review. This ensures we all come prepared, ready to dive straight into meaningful discussions, not just definitions.
  • Facilitated Discussion, Not Lectures: Our sessions are dynamic seminars/conversations. Your moderator (or invited expert) isn't there to lecture, but to facilitate. We'll guide the discussion, ask thought-provoking questions, and ensure everyone has a voice.
  • Real-World Application: This is where theory meets practice! You'll share your "war stories," discuss practical applications of the Guide's principles and explore how concepts translate to your daily work challenges. Expect lively debates and collaborative problem-solving!
  • Expert Insights & Peer Exchange: While a moderator will guide most sessions, we also plan to bring in other experienced POA professionals to share their unique perspectives. This blend of expert insight and peer-to-peer learning enriches every discussion.
  • Continuous Learning: At the end of each session, we'll outline the next topic and provide guidance on which parts of the POA Guide to focus on. Between sessions, you're encouraged to reflect, apply insights, and come prepared with your questions, agreements, or even disagreements!

This is your judgment-free zone to explore, challenge, and grow your understanding of Product Ownership Analysis.
